What is Agape Adoptions?

Agape Adoptions believes that every child deserves their own supportive family to provide permanency, unconditional love, and acceptance. We are a licensed, fully accredited international adoption agency based in the Seattle/Tacoma, Washington area serving families across the U.S. We provide child placement services for children, many of whom have medical, developmental and other special needs, from Bulgaria, Cape Verde, China, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Romania, Sri Lanka, and Uganda.

What is the Agape Walk, Run, or Roll 5K?

The Walk, Run, or Roll 5K is an event designed to unite our community through a healthy and inclusive 5K event, while raising vital funds to support Agape Adoptions. Anyone and everyone who registers can choose to run, walk, roll, hop, skip or jump the distance of their choice.  If completing the race virtually, registrants will pick their own route, anywhere they want.  You can complete the distance all at one time or broken up into multiple days. Everybody is different and how you move it is up to you!

Is this a virtual or in-person race?

You get to choose!  Complete the Walk, Run, or Roll virtually (anywhere you choose) at the distance of your choice (5k or 3.1 miles is a traditional race length). Or, if you are in the Seattle, WA area, meet us at Alki Beach Bathhouse, 2701 Alki Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116 on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at noon for a pre-walk, run, or roll gathering. See Route Map. The group will depart at 1 p.m. to complete a 5k distance with Agape staff, adoptive families, and supporters. After we'll celebrate from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., complete with Dough Joy Donuts, food trucks, music, and special guest appearances from Agape staff and Reign FC players! Bring your race bib to the event and you'll be entered into our raffle which will take place at 3pm.

What is a virtual race?

A virtual race means you can participate from any location you choose! You can run or walk in your neighborhood, on a trail, on a track, even on a treadmill.

Can kids participate? Can I bring my dog?

Yes and yes! At Agape, we are all about family and we love dogs! Children may be registered at a reduced registration fee of $5. Children under age 5 are free!

How do I track my distance and time?

We recommend downloading a free app such as MapMyRun or Nike Run Club.

Do I need to turn in my time?

We won’t be collecting times, but we do highly encourage either tagging us on social media with the hashtags #agapewalkrunroll or sending us your training and race day photos at [email protected] We would love to share the fun you’re having and good you’re doing from a distance!

What do I receive for my registration fee?

All participants will receive a custom race bib, a 6^th Annual Walk, Run, or Roll t-shirt, and some secret swag from our sponsors!

What do the proceeds of the race support?

By participating in this event, you’ll be directly impacting the futures of vulnerable children. Your support allows us to continue fighting for forgotten children around the world, especially those with medical, developmental, and other special needs, who often face the greatest barriers to adoption. Thanks to the support we have received from individuals and organizations like yours, Agape Adoptions has been able to help hundreds of children from all over the world find their forever families. And yet, there are still so many more who don’t have a family to call their own. Your participation allows us to help even more children find permanent, loving homes. 

Can I register/donate by check?

Yes! If you'd rather register for the event through the U.S. mail, please send your check for the registration fee to the address below. Please include your name, address, email address, t-shirt size, and if you plan to complete the race virtually or in-person on May 31st.

What are teams? 

Creating or joining a team is a great way to bring friends and family together for a fun event, all while supporting children in need.  Click "create a team" or "join a team" above. You’ll be instructed on how to invite your friends and family to participate.

When is the last day to register?

You may register up until the event, but please register by Sunday, May 21 to receive your race packet by the event date. Participants who register after this date may be able to receive their items in time by paying an optional priority shipping charge.
